At the time of writing this report, there's no word from Meta or Instagram on what is causing the crashing and suspension of accounts. ![]() Even for Instagram, Meta announced that 'Configuration change' was the reason behind the global Instagram outage. On the previous outages, a Meta spokesperson said that “the brief outage was a result of a technical error on our part and has now been resolved." The company had even acknowledged the problem saying that it was aware that some people were having trouble sending messages. Those major outages left users unable to send messages for almost two hours. Second big outage in less than a week The news comes a few days after both Instagram and WhatsApp suffered outages. Downdetector tracks outages by collating status reports from a number of sources including user-submitted errors on its platform. As per the Downdetector website, which tracks internet outages, users started reporting issues starting at 6.17 pm and the number of complaints have been on a rise since. A section of Twitter users started posting memes turning the opportunity into a meme fest. The details mentioned that the accounts were suspended for not adhering to community guidelines. Others said that their Instagram page displayed a message for suspended account when they logging in. Some users say that their accounts are suspended without any reason provided by the company and they have been given 30 days time “to disagree” with them. Scores of Instagram users took to Twitter to complain that the app is crashing. ![]()
